Vocalist and producer Caitlin Stokes had been greatly influenced by the passing of her mother during the creation of The Echo, the new single by darkwave/post punk band Corlyx, which is presented with an accompanying video directed by Stokes.
The song combines Corlyx's earlier electro-infused sound with the post punk direction of their recent material, and it will be part of their next album, Blood in the Disco, coming on Negative Gain in January 2022.
The goth aesthetics of Corlyx are perfectly connected with both sides of their sound, and The Echo seems to be an evocative example of their art.
