Basement Revolver Fill The Darkenin Heart Questionnaire
November 29, 2021
What do you consider to be the darkest piece of music you’ve ever heard?
Jon really loves black metal. Probably that haha.
How would you characterize your own music?
I think we are dreamgaze :)
What are your musical aspirations?
I really want to basically live on tour, going to medium sized venues every night, playing sold out shows. That is the dream for me.
What are your main musical inspirations?
Mewithoutyou is my favorite band of all time. Honestly, I will never stop loving them.
What are your main goals in life?
I would really like to live well. I would like to be surrounded by good people, travel to beautiful places and eat good food. I would really love to live in a van, but my partner would no enjoy that ahah.
What motivates you to create?
I have to. I think that is what motivates me. Writing music is a journey of self discovery - it's the best way for me to know where I am at, it is a place to be honest and vulnerable, which makes it hard to share, but I also know that it can help people.
Are you more of an early bird or a night owl?
Currently an early bird. I go through cycles, right now my cycle is trying to get out of bed and take care of myself.
Besides music, what other art forms would you like to explore?
My partner and I own a screen printing shop - and I also run my own clothing label (realfruitjuiceapparel.com). I love making art, and I love graphic design. I am also trying to explore my creativity through practicing movement, I definitely feel that connecting with my body opens me up creatively.
Which is the very first record that had a big impact on you?
Probably ‘Come On! Feel The Illinoise!’ by Sufjan Stevens. It was the right record at the right time.
What is the best decade for music?
I think every decade has so much to offer - it's so hard to choose - I love the oughts for their indie rock and hip hop, I love the 90s for shoegaze and dream pop and I love the 80s for new wave, et cetera. They are all good.
What do your future plans include?
Just trying to do music, trying to tour, trying to live life.
