Failures by Deceits

Darkenin Heart

Los Angeles band Deceits release their second single Failures, basing their dark sound on the Seventeen Seconds and Faith period of The Cure, together with more familiar examples, as most of their inspirations seem to be deriving from the past.

Also appearing linked to current acts like Human Tetris, the up and coming band is steadily growing out being a fine new representative of modern post punk.

Failures follows Deceits' debut Every Promise from October 2021, which also appears as the b-side of the single in its demo version.

The band comment on the new song: "Our second single release Failures was written during a moment of extreme mental reflection during quarantine. While the overall emotions of the songs are negative, the line 'The bliss of failure' is a stark reminder that sometimes you just need to laugh at the face of negativity and sadness."
