Tiny Manticore by Abandoncy

Darkenin Heart

Kansas City’s Abandoncy have drawn comparisons to essential noise rock acts like Pile, Metz, the Chariot, Drive Like Jehu, and Unwound. The trio composed of Damian Fisher (guitar, vocals), Lincoln Peterson (bass, vocals) and Morgan Reed Greenwood (drums) will be following their debut album Hollow//Living from 2020 with new full length Pastel//Anguish, releasing on February 25th, 2022.

Tiny Manticore, the first single, is a rather hefty and very emotive song with a fascinating compositional arrangement and an impassioned performance which resonates on several levels.

Abandoncy regard their latest album as a "labor of love," and they have been practical and direct in its development, recording it at a local DIY warehouse music venue/woodworking shop, with the members of the band driving daily across town with the whole recording setup, as well as their drums, guitars, and amplifiers, setting up, working through the day, and then tearing it all down to take it back home.
