Lotus Thrones is the Philadelphia-based solo act by Heath Rave of Wolvhammer and Across Tundras. The new project was created during the 2020 quarantine, and has recently released the full-length Lovers In Wartime followed by the EP Autumnal. Another EP titled Hibernal is expected to come out on February 25th, 2022.
Expanding from the heavier metal sound and the experimental nature of Wolvhammer and Across Tundras respectively, with Lotus Thrones Raves explores different genres, the ones on which he grew up, like post punk, industrial, goth and shoegaze, citing influence from Killing Joke, The Cure, Sisters Of Mercy and Neurosis among others.
"Two madly in love firebugs choose to leave this earth together," the artist says on Codependent Arsonry, the first song from the upcoming EP. The new song, a really dark composition that combines all of Rave's influences, attracts both musically and conceptually.
