MEMES are a Glasgow-based post punk duo composed of cousins John and Paul McLinden. Second Though, the band's new single, follows their previous offering, Heavy Night, and it's the newest taste of a planned EP produced by Darwin Deez, set to be released in 2022.
John comments on the new single: “I’ve often wondered what people are really thinking when I talk to them. Behind the mask and the measured words. So, I started imagining these cartoon conversations where involuntary thought bubbles would appear above people’s heads as they spoke, betraying what they truly thought. That’s what gave birth to the song”.
MEMES deliver their own frenzied, wildly addictive style of indie post punk, complete with sharp lyrics and plenty of energy.
