Honest is the new double-single by Keener Family, a Chicago-based psychedelic country collective led by Christopher. Alex DeGroot (Zola Jesus) co-produced and mixed the track, and Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv, Nine Inch Nails) did the mastering. The release also features Chanel Pease, Aubrey Ann, Robby Haynes, Sam Wagster, Gillian Lisee, Henry Prendergast, and Brien Seyle.
Holiday is a depiction of the band's frailty and emotional depth through a lush musical profile and superb production. An expressive and atmospheric song, with a clear dreampop slant and excursions toward heavier shoegaze and post rock sounds. Holiday, sways both lyrically and vocally, and it comes off as an enthralling listen.
