Five-piece from Cardiff so far known as Clwb Fuzz have renamed themselves, and remerge as Midding. New track Figurehead is one of the songs on their new double A-side single.
Singer and bassist Emily Kocan comments on the band's new offering under their new moniker: “While writing it I was reading Welsh poetry in a manic state and decided to translate it into Greek then translate it into English. Nothing made sense, so I filled it out and this is what came about. It only really reflects my manic state hobbies.”
Figurehead is a psychedelic indie rock cut with post punk tendencies, and it comes with a video created by Pypi Slysh and Midding.
On their name change, singer and guitarist Joe Woodward explains: “We’ve all matured (a bit) since and just wanted a fresh start. We will still be the same band, just in a different body. It’s like Clwb Fuzz was a caterpillar and now Midding is us transforming into some weird fucked up butterfly, with a slight hangover and bags under its eyes.”
