Gunman & The Holy Ghost originated as a side project among Icelandic musician friends in Berlin, including a fluctuating lineup of members. The project has evolved into a solo project by Hákon Aðalsteinsson for the forthcoming album, The Death of Gunman and The Holy Ghost.
Aalsteinsson, who is based in Berlin, previously played in the Icelandic band Singapore Sling and now fronts the Berlin-based group The Third Sound, and plays with The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
New single Stockholm City is the embodiment of the band's heavier and darker balladry, leaning to Lee Hazlewood-style Americana with traces of modern post punk. Lilly Elizabeth Creightmore directed the video for the song.
Little Cloud Records will release The Death of Gunman and The Holy Ghost in Summer 2022.
