Into the Sun by Casket Cassette

Darkenin Heart

Casket Cassette is the darkwave/post punk project of artist Constant Williams who merges excitement with anguish in a distinct combination that puts a new spin on the electronic side of the eighties post-punk scene. The artist lives in Los Angeles, California, and Iowa City, Iowa, where he is working to get an MFA in poetry at the Iowa Writers Workshop. Williams' songs frequently dwell on hefty subjects such as mental health, loss, addiction and recovery, while also delivering signs of hope.

The project's name was inspired by a childhood recollection of Williams' father recording a live song onto a cassette tape and then slipping the tape inside his grandfather's casket as it was being placed into the ground.

Casket Cassette's self-titled first album concludes with Into The Sun, a vivid song with goth aesthetics and a dark and highly expressive tone.
