Sylvia are a shoegaze four-piece band from Melbourne, Australia. Sylvia EP, their first release, exemplifies their shoegaze sound, and it was recorded live in a storage container where they practice. The band describe their act as "shy pop songs done loud."
Fold Imaginary is loud and fuzzy, paying respect to the earlier years of shoegaze, while also highlighting the nostalgia and openness found in Sylvia's songwriting.
Sylvia's self-titled debut EP is a rather noteworthy introduction to their sound, whether that takes the role of quiet pop-gaze or just unreserved shoegaze.
