Meredith Lampe (also of Colatura), a musician who resides in Brooklyn, New York, has a solo project named Work Wife. Her songs combine sad tales of her own experiences with anxiety and missed relationships with clever melodies and instrumentation. Work Wife's music has a darkly humorous tone.
The artist's most recent EP, Quitting Season, features the artistic single and music video Too Young To Understand, a sentimental dreampop song with considerable appeal.
Work Wife describes: "Too Young to Understand describes the ache of wanting to help someone but not knowing the right way, and feeling like every time you try you’re messing it up. The song tells the story of my relationship with my mother, our shared stubborn independence, and our journey together figuring out how to help each other."
