VIM by Martin Kohlstedt

Feld, Martin Kohlstedt's sixth studio album, will be released in March 2023, and it's preceded by the third single and music video from it, VIM, which the artist describes as the "safe core" of the album.

VIM is one of the most melodic examples of Kohlstedt's music, and its matching video has a compelling plot. The composition is a delicate duet for synthesizer and piano, with electronic and organic instruments blending harmoniously to form one enticing unit.

Feld evokes a sense of withdrawal, like running toward uncharted territories, in contrast to Kohlstedt's previous album Flur, with its emphasis on the piano, which was a calculated choice towards taking a moment of introversion and collected thought. The album travels through a variety of worlds and stories without deviating significantly from its overall structure or central topic.
