Velvet Glove is the lead single from the upcoming EP The Light by Swiss post punk band Plague Pits. The track is also included on the new compilation, Punishment & Extinction, from Young & Cold Records.
"Velvet Glove is a song about ideology - religion, nationalism, neoliberalism - and how its promise of meaning and belonging inevitably turns out to be empty," Plague Pits explain.
The song exemplifies the band's coldwave sound, with its piercing, seductive synths and distant vocals that highlight the darkened lyricism.
The Light will be out on March 17th, 2023.
