Unveiled on Record Store Day, the new EP by Beach House, Become, emerges as a collection of five tunes that Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally felt didn't quite align with the overall vibe of their latest album, Once Twice Melody, released in 2022.
“To us, they are all kind of scuzzy and spacious, and live in the spirit realm,” they comment. “It’s not really where we are currently going, but it’s definitely somewhere we have been.” It's no surprise that Beach House's choice to present these tracks as a standalone release is both reasoned and warmly embraced by those who admire their dreamy sound.
Every songs together create a charming atmosphere. The title track distinguishes itself with an enchanting and well executed crescendo, bringing the EP to an immersive finish.
