Mayflower Madame is an Oslo-based band known for their dark sound which can be described as a fusion of post punk, dreampop, and psychedelic noir. They have been working on writing songs for their highly anticipated third album, which was recorded between February and March of this year. The new record is expected to be released in the latter part of 2023 or the early months of 2024.
Before that, the band will be launching a Deluxe Version of their previous album, Prepared for a Nightmare. This special edition will include five additional bonus tracks, marking their first release of new music in a three-year period. The first track unveiled from the new material is the gloomy Dresden.
Dresden encapsulates the spirit of an arresting city night, where an unplanned encounter has the power to transform one's life indefinitely. The track has an immersive and misty feel, eliciting a sense of smoggy surroundings and nighttime romanticism.
Prepared for a Nightmare - Deluxe Version will be released June 12th, 2023 by Only Lovers Records.
