A second song from Drab Majesty's upcoming mini-album, An Object in Motion, coming out on August 25th, 2023 via Dais Records, has been released, following the impressive track, Vanity, from last month which featured a rare guest vocal performance by Rachel Goswell of Slowdive. The new single stays close the shoegaze approach which Deb Demure and Mona D. are taking with their new music.
The new music video for the song, which was inspired by the lyrics about the unstoppable march of time, mimics the way memories are pieced together by bits and pieces of imagery, much like how the mind recalls those images. By revisiting the moments and choosing to remember specific details of a day, a trip, or a period of travel, the Super 8mm film appears edited in a natural and coherent manner.
Guitar-based indie rock from the nineties, post punk and shoegaze are the key ingredients of the newest sound of Drab Majesty, as both singles have evidenced thus far. The new songs also attest to the evolution of the band which is striking and distinguishable.
