Damaged Goods by The Vacant Lots

Darkenin Heart

The Vacant Lots have just released their latest single Damaged Goods. The track is taken from their upcoming fifth studio album Interiors, set to be released on October 13th, 2023 via Fuzz Club.

The new album features The Vacant Lots' characteristic blend of minimalist post punk and synthpop. The accompanying music video for Damaged Goods was directed by Alexander Schipper, and captures the band's aesthetic really well.

“Damaged Goods is about integrating conflicting internal feelings. If you're saying you need an exit strategy and one lifetime is enough, that’s a whole other zone you're going to. On this album, I wanted to dig deeper than I had done before and really carve out the pain”, The Vacant Lots' Jared Artaud explains. “In Damaged Goods lines from other songs on the record are referenced and contrasted. We did this a lot on Interiors. I like how all the songs can interrelate with one another, and it gives this song and the album another layer of intimacy, depth and closeness.”
