Astari Nite Fill The Darkenin Heart Questionnaire

Darkenin Heart

What do you consider to be the darkest piece of music you’ve ever heard?
Of course, “Imagine” by John Lennon!

How would you characterize your own music?
Oh Geez, well, Astari Nite certainly is a Christmas jingle sort of a band, right? You know how this world can dictate who or what you are, people kind of tell you now a days, what you are without you even knowing what or who you’re meant to be.

For certain, our music continues to change, I mean, writing the same song over and over and over again does not seem so poetic.

I just can’t say that I am that when I most certainly know that I am not!

Astari Nite is what we are and what we want to be during that creative process. Perhaps we are labeled as “uncertain."

What are your musical aspirations?
After the release of our “Resolution of Happiness” record in the next month or so, we plan on recording a live EP. I am not interested in pristine recordings. I want it to be as organic as possible. No retakes, just one take for each track. Capture all the happiness and mistakes as much as possible. The messier, the better this next go around. Let’s see how this transpires in the next episode of My So-called Life!

What are your main musical inspirations?
The theme songs of The Smurfs and Jem and the Holograms cartoon come to mind! Let’s not forget the Velvet Goldmine and Popeye, the movie soundtrack. Brilliant songs, absolutely wonderful. The rest is all kind of personal, you know what I mean?

What are your main goals in life?
To continue to pour my heart out to anyone who will listen and help them to understand that “without love, nothing exists. "

What motivates you to create?
Anything and everything! From a blurred photograph to the sound of a fork touching a plate for the last bit of cake. It drives me mental how fascinated and infatuated I am with it all.

Are you more of an early bird or a night owl?
I just love the morning time! It is so much more colorful to me. Things just make more sense. Kind of reminds me of kindergarten. I’ve never seen a butterfly at night!

Besides music, what other art forms would you like to explore?
The art of daydreaming comes to mind!

Which is the very first record that had a big impact on you?
Disintegration, The Cure and Nevermind, Nirvana!

What is the best decade for music?
They all have played an influential role of enjoyment I can honestly say! I’m in love with them all.

What do your future plans include?
Being jetlagged, baking a cake, playing Nintendo, laughter with friends, gardening and running around with my puppies all seem rather beautiful.
