Montreal post punk band The City Gates prepare for the release of their awaited new album, and have just unveiled the second single from it, Lapidation, which sounds exciting, exactly like something audiences would expect from the band.
Lapidation reveals the band's trademark fusion of danceable rhythms and dynamic energy that has become synonymous with their previous releases. With their distinctive guitar melodies, pulsating basslines, and emotive vocals, The City Gates once again deliver a punchy dark track that stands out.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by The City Gates' own François Marsan at Velouria Studio in Montreal, Lapidation is accompanied by a visually compelling video shot in the attic of the band's studio. Drummer Bitou is in control of the video's creation, with MADOC, TWEAX, and Dino Chauvette contributing to the filming and lighting.
Anticipation is high for The City Gates' forthcoming album, slated for release by the end of 2024 on Icy Cold Records and Velouria Recordz.
