Wolfschmidt is a five-piece fresh shoegaze band from the industrial areas of Gothenburg, Sweden, which has been turning into a centre for the underground scene. Wolfschmidt have discovered their own distinctive aesthetic in modern shoegaze, incorporating elements of grunge and post rock among other styles.
Their new song, Crisis, is taken from the group's forthcoming debut EP, which will be available on September 6th, 2024. With a fairly crisp sound, the track is an enjoyable shoegaze tune that stands out.
Wolfschmidt describes: "The song is about failing to stay true to oneself in a society where truth and authenticity are overshadowed by fear and greed — a human crisis, if you will. It explores how we all, due to our desperate need for belonging, gradually fall in line with disavowed values, only to one day wake up and realize how much of ourselves we have sacrificed."
