Darkwave producer Torba has released WIRE, the first single from his debut album set to release in early 2025 through numeronove. The new track serves as a dark reinterpretation of a dance song, and draws inspiration from the wild nights that often surrounded Luigi Pianezzola, the producer behind Torba. Pianezzola creates a cutting-edge sound that is simultaneously individual and forcible.
Co-written by Pianezzola and producer Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher), WIRE channels Torba's signature electronic style, blending elements of punk, industrial, and club music.
“I was thinking about how much time I’ve spent in a club in a super deep situation. I’d ask myself why I do it - and then I’d do it again,” Pianezzola describes.
The single's accompanying video was directed by Jacopo Dall’Agnol. The director comments: "'WIRE' is part of a trilogy of videos in which, through the use of artificial intelligence, we have brought disturbing gastronomic visions to life. Like a cover from the unforgettable 'Goosebumps' series, our dishes come to life, become anthropomorphic faces, and neurotically sing words they cannot be aware of. The choice of dishes and the aesthetic adopted are inspired by cookbooks and TV infomercials from the '80s and '90s, further contributing to immersing the viewer in Torba's unsettling atmospheres."
