M(h)aol have released their latest single and video, Snare, through Merge Records and TULLE Collective. Staying true to their radical post punk roots, M(h)aol deliver a fierce, noise-laden track that’s both energetic and unapologetically bold. Known for their sharp lyrics and striking performances, the band uses Snare to dismantle gender expectations with biting contempt and an unfiltered sound that demands attention.
Band member Constance Keane comments: "Snare is about countless conversations I’ve had since my first drum lesson on my ninth birthday about how bizarre it is that I play that instrument, or how I should be doing it differently. The idea of society gendering an inanimate object like a drum kit, when it’s something that brings me so much joy and release, has always frustrated me hugely, and I thought it was time to sing about it."
Based in Dublin, Belfast, and London, M(h)aol, featuring Constance Keane (she/her), Jamie Hyland (she/her), and Sean Nolan (he/him), have earned a reputation for their electrifying live performances and their fearless approach to post punk.
