Formed in 1991 by songwriter Alan D. Boyd, MOVIELAND created out a distinctive sound based on the shoegaze and alternative rock movements of the nineties. Their music reflects the era’s blend of addictive melodies and raw energy.
Recorded in Vancouver during the nineties, their track (A Sort Of) Icarus has remained a long-lost treasure. Through 604 Records, the song, together with more of the band's music, is finally being released for the first time.
Friends of Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Can, and Ride will feel right at home with Movieland’s atmospheric style. (A Sort Of) Icarus will appear on 604 Records' new archival imprint, 604 Decades, as part of the compilation Then & Now, set to release on December 13th, 2024.
