Remixes can be a delicate art form, difficult to master without losing the spirit of the original. Fortunately, The Cure have long demonstrated a unique ability to embrace reinvention. One new notable example is the Mark Saunders remix of A Fragile Thing.
Though the new version is not included in Mixes of a Lost World, A Fragile Thing is definitely one of the standout tracks on the Songs of a Lost World album. The remix introduces a more excitable tone compared to the original’s melancholy, but it complements the initial take in a surprising way, offering a fresh emotional perspective.
