Bury Me Under the Cherry Blossoms by Deformr

Darkenin Heart

Bury Me Under the Cherry Blossoms is a haunting electronic instrumental from Deformr, the first single from the Swindled podcast composer’s forthcoming EP, We’ve Met Before, Haven’t We? Built from modular synths, ghostly vocal samples, and ambient/industrial textures, the track unfolds like a mystic number founded on the ache grief and the depths of memory.

Following the 2022 release SWINDLED, a curated collection of pieces from the hit true crime podcast’s original score, this new chapter sees Deformr expanding their sound. With Bury Me Under the Cherry Blossoms, they explore an experimental direction like a meditation on ephemerality, blending ambient pop, industrial minimalism, and trip-hop elements into something deeply atmospheric.

Deformr explains: "'Bury Me Under the Cherry Blossoms' came from a place of quiet devastation. I wanted to build something that felt like grief unfolding in slow motion — disjointed, fragile, but still reaching toward something beautiful. It’s all modular synth, broken rhythms, ghostly vocal fragments. No lyrics, but it says what it needs to."

The track was mixed by Joseph Holiday (Snakes of Russia) and mastered by Gregg Cash at Vibe Tech Industries.
