Spanish post rock shoegazers Salvana refuse to sit still, and with their new single Desierta, they’re clearly in no mood to play it safe. The new song hits the gas with dreamy distortion and a rebellious alternative rock heartbeat.
From the jump, Desierta swirls with that familiar shoegaze haze, lush and just slightly melancholic, but it doesn’t stay grounded for long. The track rockets forward with a kind of grunge meets shoegaze electricity, mixing melody with bursts of guitar-charged energy. The band brings the song to a strong conclusion with a sharp left turn, a surprisingly metallic crunch.
