Denver-based alternative metal collective O Manhattan: The Project! produces a sound that sits between shoegaze, heavy metal, post hardcore, and post rock. Their debut single, Aching, paves the way for the release of their six-track EP arriving October 24th, 2024.
The track pairs somber, yearning lead vocals with ghostly, operatic harmonies that feel otherworldly and unreachable, nearly like echoes of something long lost. Lyrically and sonically, the song navigates themes of longing, the natural world, and the tensions of inner conflict.
The production stacks up to ten guitar tracks and eight vocal layers, building an enveloping wall of sound, while one of its most striking features is the Renaissance-inspired female chanting woven into the shoegaze framework.
