Active since the late nineties, Julie's Haircut is a band from Emilia, northern Italy, whose music has steadily evolved across a series of albums and EPs. They began with the garage-rock, soulful energy of their debut and have since ventured into more experimental territory.
Their new album Radiance Opposition is set for release on November 28th, 2025 via Superlove and Weird Beard Records. Ahead of it, the band has unveiled the first single, Unit Circle, along with an accompanying video.
The track is a dynamic piece driven by pulsing synths and vibrant percussion, layered with captivating vocals. Its steady build creates a mounting tension that ultimately opens into a mounting choral chant, a spiritual, pantheistic anthem to humankind.
Julie’s Haircut is now a six-piece, featuring Italian-Nigerian singer and songwriter Anna Bassy, who joins long-standing members Nicola Caleffi, Luca Giovanardi, Andrea Rovacchi, Andrea Scarfone, and Ulisse Tramalloni. With the reveal of Unit Circle, the band makes a striking first impression of their new material, hinting at the expansive sound of the forthcoming record.
