Bristol’s genre-bending outfit Dreamwave make a solid return with Moon Buggy, the lead single from their eagerly awaited third EP, arriving via Stolen Body Records. True to their name, Dreamwave continue to blur the lines between pure energy and sonic dreamscapes. Moon Buggy is such a piece of post punk and psychedelic rock combined to a cohesive blend.
The track is accompanied by a self-directed music video shot at The Mendips Raceway, a dirt-track venue in the South West of the UK. Amid clouds of dust and the visceral crunch of colliding cars, the video mirrors the track’s chaotic pulse and pays homage to the band’s fiercely DIY spirit.
Moon Buggy began as a spontaneous live jam, slowly morphing over two years into a fully-formed piece of music. Recorded live in just three takes, the single captures Dreamwave’s signature mix of fluidity and fire like an electrifying distillation of their live presence in studio form.
