Elastic Skies draw from the darker corners of the eighties underground. Their sound carries echoes of post punk and darkwave, but there is also a looseness to it that feels fresh. It’s elegant but also rough around the edges in a way that invites the listener. Moody, yet never cold.
Their latest release, On The Other Hand, is a fast-paced synthpop track that doesn’t waste time. It opens with sharp guitar riffs and vintage synths that swirl into thick layers of reverb. The band's momentum is again obvious, so is the honesty in their sound.
The track leans into self-expression. It questions the need to fit in, the chase for approval, and instead, it offers something simpler and more sincere. It creates a space where people can move through the night as themselves, with no masks on, hence no pressure. Just the beat, and the freedom to follow it wherever it leads.
