Fragile Things is the debut single from Portland, OR–based HEXXES, and it arrives with the kind of resolution that makes the first impression appearing very promising. With an electro‑industrial style as their base, the trio pulls together the serrated rhythms and intricate synthwork of early nineties electronics with the emotional power of post punk.
Formed in 2024 by multi‑instrumentalist Agatha Hexx, the project leans hard into darkwave’s striking edge and performance art dramaturgy, channeling familiar darkness from the genre’s past while creating a fresh identity.
They comment on the track: "It speaks to how many of us are feeling in this exact, collective moment, and the fear and uncertainty of our futures. It is a call for strength, and reminds us that outcomes are not pre-ordained, and that we aren’t helpless, if we just remember who we are."
The band is composed of Agatha Hexx (synths, programming, bass,) Alastair Hexx (guitar,) and Scarlett Hexx (vocals, lyrics).
