Marianne by Endearments

Darkenin Heart

Endearments continue building momentum toward their debut album An Always Open Door, with the release of their latest single, Marianne. Serving as the final preview of the record, the track showcases the band’s knack for pairing driving indie rock energy with shimmering textures, balancing punchy guitar work and immersive synths with an undeniable melodic pull.

Directed by Paul Desilva, the accompanying video places the band in a dreamy setting among mirrors, visually echoing the song’s sentimentality. As the imagery shifts and breaks apart, it suggests the difficult but necessary act of confronting vulnerability and dismantling the invisible walls that keep people apart.

The band's Kevin Marksson explains: "'Marianne' is about the uncertain and vulnerable moments at the beginning of a new relationship. It's a song about longing for someone who is far away, physically and emotionally, and what it takes to break down those barriers. We wanted the music video to emphasize that metaphor, with the band playing in a liminal place, bright and surreal, before the mirrors that are reflecting us literally shatter.”

An Always Open Door is produced by Abe Seiferth (Nation of Language, Car Seat Headrest), and arrives March 6th, 2026 via Trash Casual.
