At Last, I Found You (Fear Increases Violent Emotions) by Christine Plays Viola

A lone figure drives into the night. as the road ahead is swallowed by black mist, and soon nothing on the journey can be trusted. This is the disorienting world Christine Plays Viola construct around At Last, I Found You (Fear Increases Violent Emotions), their first standalone release following the 2026 album F.I.V.E.

Conceived during the same writing period, it remained unheard for six months so that F.I.V.E. could establish its own shape before the missing piece was revealed. Its delayed arrival in July 2026 consequently feels less like an outtake being retrieved from the archive and more like a carefully timed final chapter.

Guitarist and bandleader Fabrizio Giampietro explains: “At Last, I Found You was always the most immediate and instinctive song we wrote during the F.I.V.E. sessions. We deliberately left it off the album because we wanted listeners to experience that record's emotional arc without this song becoming its centre of gravity. Six months later, it felt like the right moment to finally share it.”

Where the album unfolded through a broader emotional arc, At Last, I Found You works through immediacy. Christine Plays Viola lock into a propulsive post punk pulse, allowing guitar melodies and darkwave atmosphere to move in tandem. The result carries an undeniable physical energy, while darkness remains embedded in the song's character, although it is balanced by a sense of lift that makes it one of the group’s more instantly arresting offerings.

The album F.I.V.E. may already have reached its formal ending, but At Last, I Found You gives its fragments one additional opportunity to surface.
