BLEED by Julia Gaeta

Darkenin Heart

Paris-based American artist Julia Gaeta returns with BLEED, a powerful new single that pairs pulsating electronic production with an exploration of resilience, identity and the lived experiences of women. Produced by Matia Simovich at Infinite Power Studios in Los Angeles, the track blends propulsive analog synthesizers with expansive, cinematic arrangements, drawing inspiration from the vibrant electronic textures of Madonna's Ray of Light while remaining firmly rooted in Gaeta's own artistic vision.

One of the song's earliest creative touchstones reaches back to Gaeta's childhood fascination with Gustav Holst's Mars, the Bringer of War.

This is a song that reflects on the victories and burdens that continue to define the female experience. It naturally embraces complexity, confronting sacrifice, perseverance and the expectations that women are still asked to carry.

"I wanted to imagine a post-expectations era, where women no longer have to answer to anyone. What would our power look like? How would we wield it? What would its true magnitude be?" Gaeta says, and continues:

"BLEED is my attempt to step into that vacuum - to dance in it, and to imagine what becomes physically and culturally possible when expectation falls away."

The release is accompanied by a self-directed music video, marking Gaeta's directorial debut. Influenced by the vivid visual language of Italian horror director Dario Argento, the clip transports viewers to a surreal world detached from familiar expectations, where physical movement becomes an act of self-definition and empowerment.
