Living in Fear by RIP DUNES

Darkenin Heart

Caveman vocalist Matthew Iwanusa steps further into the dark with Living in Fear, the first single from his forthcoming RIP DUNES album, Tales From the Ripped. Built from drum machines, analogue synthesizers, guitars and Iwanusa’s brooding vocals, the track introduces a solo project driven by the darker aspects of post punk and new wave.

Electronic rhythms give the song an urgent forward pull while synths and guitars gather around them in tense layers. The production’s tight frame lets the moodiness bloom, becoming both the song’s emotional weight and the engine that keeps it moving.

Co-produced and mixed by Abe Seiferth, Living in Fear establishes a stark sonic identity for the album ahead. Iwanusa also directed and edited the accompanying video, extending the self-contained character of RIP DUNES into its visual world. As an opening piece for the album, the single points toward a work shaped by anxiety and the energy that emerges when fear is given a pulse.
