Oklahoma City-based shoegaze band Neon Cathedral released their new EP Velvet in August 2021, combining melody and fuzz ideally, as they channel the genre's finest moments in a natural and organic way.
Neon Cathedral's gothic aesthetics merge well with their tendency toward shoegaze's darker side. The EP's closer, Goodnight, is a perfect outline of the band's atmospheric qualities, bringing the four-track release to a dreamy culmination through its smooth transition from sedate bedroom pop to spacey shoegaze.
