Blamalan by Palm Squirrel

Darkenin Heart

Berlin band Palm Squirrel release their new single and video, Blamalan, on the also Berlin-based Baby Satan Records, self-described as the city's dirtiest label. A dynamic and gritty punk/noise rock track, Blamalan captivates immediately, and its accompanying video is equally intense in terms of visuals.

Jason and Matthew, Palm Squirrel members and the video's creators share: "The video was filmed on DV film camera. A lot of the effects are down to faults with the camera when too much volume was picked up by the microphone. We decided to keep it as it was fitted so well aesthetically. The film medium and green screen was trying to reference 90’s MTV, parody of a parody, very postmodern."

Blamalan doesn't belong to any record, as it was supposed to be part of an EP but the other recordings were destroyed in a ritual burning. One more single and an EP are expected to follow by the end of 2021.
