LA-based synthpop artist Riki will release her second album Gold through Dais Records on November 26th, 2021. First single Marigold finds Riki collaborating on vocals with the album’s co-producer, Telefon Tel Aviv co-founder Joshua Eustis.
Riki characterizes the lyrical influences for the album as “very much what’s going on in my life, things I wanted to say but didn’t have the platform.” From the elegance of Bryan Ferry and the goth style of Strawberry Switchblade to the pop sound of Bananarama, a ton of inspiration from the eighties is applied in Riki's artistry.
Gold will be following Riki's self-titled album from 2020, and although less dance floor inclined, it already appears to be very exciting.
