Singapore-based dreampop band Blush release Best Friend, their new single alongside an accompanying video, from their soon to be released self-titled three-track EP.
The first example from the EP is a balmy indie pop tune, jangly-driven and revealing of a coming of age narrative. The music video which comes with the song depicts the loving friendship between the band's members.
Between nostalgic twee pop, effervescent dreampop and traditional shoegaze, Best Friend lays the groundwork for the upcoming band, blurring the lines between ethereality and mellowness. Lead vocalist and guitarist Soffi Peters' vocals shine with soulful emotion, and Daniel Lim’s guitar work lays down the melodic atmosphere which makes Blush a hopeful new band for the shoegaze domains.
Blush EP was produced by guitarist and producer Zhang Bo of shoegaze forefronts Cosmic Child.
