DEADLETTER is an emerging post punk band from South London. Their new single Pop Culture Connoisseur is part of the new volume of Nice Swan Records' Introduces... series, and it appears to be very dynamic, like a descendant of the fierce sound of Gang of Four.
Different from the clear political direction of their previous releases, the new single comes with a sarcastic tone, centered around the case of PC Read, a police officer fired for stealing doughnuts through a self-service checkout, depicting law enforcement as a stereotype, and offering smart critique on those with authority who consider themselves above the law.
Pop Culture Connoisseur was produced by Theo Verney (TRAAMS, Lazarus Kane, FEET).
