Chopper is the dark and strange solo outfit of Jonatan K. Magnussen from The Love Coffin, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Chopper describes the project as 'shock pop,' taking inspiration from a variety of styles, including eurodance, glam, industrial and disco, together with the visuals of vintage horror films to create something eccentric.
The Wonderful and Wicked World of Chopper is the project's new album out on Pink Cotton Candy Records, a presentation of pop melodies and persistent beats, with a strange instrumental profile made from cheap keyboards, glam rock guitars and plastic horn parts over warped vocals.
The quirkiness of the project, as well as the memorability of its sound and songwriting approach, are exemplified by standout track Living Alone.
