Aura by Carpet Waves

Carpet Waves are a four-piece group from Düsseldorf, Wuppertal, and Cologne which play an adaptable mix of alternative music. With the new EP, Inner Weapons, the band have cultivated their sound, embracing the post punk and dreampop aspect of their craft while remaining faithful to their beginnings in indie rock.

Aura was the first song the band composed in their practice room after a six-month lockdown hiatus, on a sentimental day. The track's post punk characteristics are reinforced by nineties shoegaze tones in a magnetic outcome.

Carpet Waves describe: "Aura is our package of emotion we had to handle with over the last two pandemic years. It's about a powerful natural force that has the power to do what people are not capable of, it's about despair but also hope. About not giving up and about surviving somehow."
