Darkenin Heart

Combining features of indie pop, chillwave and dreampop, NYC-based band dayaway have released their self-titled second single which is evocative of the genre's more easy going side and acts like Tennis and Hatchie, and also mentions influences from nineties and 2000s indie music such as Rilo Kiley, Beach House and Washed Out.

The melancholic music of dayaway is founded on a base of dreamy instrumentals and has a psychedelic tinge.

The band comments: "We started writing for this project in 2018 out at Rockaway Beach on our days off. There’s something cathartic about writing by the ocean. ‘dayaway’ is a song about lost love and nostalgia for a past you can never return to. Ultimately it became the namesake of our band."
