Magicbug are Oyu and Jun, who met in Tokyo's indie music scene at the end of the nineties. Both artists have been infatuated with club culture, particularly techno, since the early 2000s. After a hiatus that spanned the whole decade of the 2010s, they formed Magicbug in 2020, based on different impulses and ideas, with the objective to produce a visual representation of their different musical experiences and viewpoints on life, while retaining an optimal sound for the dance floor.
Their new single is the electronic dreampop number Fall in Love which comes with a very appealing video and completes the duo's vision for an immersive listening experience.
Magicbug describe the track: "It is the flight of a migratory bird on a mission. The first thing you hear is the sound pulse as a phrase. It inspires the courage to fly to the destination. The beat is inspired by rhythms like Surgeon, Loktibrada and Oscar Mulero. Escaping gravity, the singing voice traverses the time lapse smoothly on the air currents. The eternally shining star is the compass."
