Loungewear are a new band from Leeds, UK, and their single Runners is their debut release. Laura Cheshire, vocalist and lyricist, and guitarist Tommy Cruickshanks formed the five-piece lo-fi shoegaze band in late 2020 after connecting through a shared fondness of melancholic indie and synths.
Runners is packed with wonderful melancholic energy and has a superb production built around big melodic guitars and delicate emotive vocals. It's an exciting debut release from the band, clearly channeling their shoegaze inspiration in an effective way.
