Since 2013, Sasha J. Langford (Cascadia, Blankets) has been producing shoegaze and dreampop music as Sigh Down One. Previously based in Montreal, Langford the artist now resides in Vancouver, BC.
Sigh Down One released the new album Desire, or a Common Place on June 20th, 2022, following up on 2016's Memory is Short Longing, which was published through L'Oeil du Tigre. Durocher is the new album's first single.
Durocher combines beautiful pop melodies with electronic production methods, combining familiar sounds with an experimental perspective.
As a unit, Desire, or a Common Place pays tribute to nineties electronica and electronic-bent shoegazers like Seefeel and Bowery Electric, while Langford also mentions dreampop standards like Cocteau Twins and Boy-era U2 as main sources of inspiration for the new project.
