The artistic outlet of Italian musician Erika Azzini, Kӕry Ann presents a melancholic musical style, fusing parts of dreampop, psychedelic, desert rock, folk, and grunge. Blue Eyes is the project's debut song and accompanying video, published by Anomic Records. The wonderful clip was produced by Kaery Ann, shot by Davide Saleri, and edited by Francesca Papi.
The project's intricate musicianship is responsible for a strange atmosphere and plenty of intrigue. On the strength of Kӕry Ann's sultry and smooth voice, and ethereal melodicism, darkness and light combine both in the lyrics and music.
Kӕry Ann comments on the song: "The lyrics are literally pieces of dreams that I often recall and note down in the morning, or words that simply come to my mind during the day; sometimes they don’t appear to have anything in common, but amidst the chaos, I often realize that there is actually order in them, and that they perfectly fit together. The first verse describes the metaphorical image of a missed beloved one (“silent waves of diamonds in the air”), while the second verse is inspired by Baudelaire’s poem Cloudy Sky."
