A new band in contemporary shoegaze, Cheerless come from Hackney, East London. After their 2021 formation in Cambridge, Cheerless started immediately getting attention and comparisons to acclaimed modern bands like Bdrmm, DIIV, and New Dad, as well as to genre classics such as Ride, MBV, and Swervedriver. The result is a sleek and classic take on shoegaze that has a profound impact.
Heat is the first single by Cheerless, mastered by Simon Scott of Slowdive after being recorded and mixed by the band from their bedroom studio. A song of solid rhythms, smooth vocals and fuzzy guitars, Heat makes a strong first impression for Cheerless, and a great recording debut.
