UK darkwave/synthpop band Magnetic Skies release their new single The Last Time (The KVB Remix), out on September 9th, 2022 via the independent label ReprinT Records.
Magnetic Skies were formed in 2018 by Simon Kent (vocals & keyboards) and Jo Womar (keyboards) with a mutual love of eighties synth-driven post-punk. They devoted most of their first year shut away in studios, experimenting with content that would develop into songs released over a set of EPs in 2020.
The new single, The Last Time, finds Magnetic Skies collaborating with the established duo The KVB, who provide the song's new remix version, citing inspiration from the acclaimed synthpop of groups such as New Order, Depeche Mode, and Japan.
This version features innately melodic vocals placed alongside an atmospheric synth-based background, sounding vivid and indeed expressive of the early years of eighties synthpop.
